KATHY GOLDEN ...
Light, airy and turquoise – that's Kathy Golden's stunning seascapes. Her whimsical approach to oil painting sets the stage for painting beyond what the eye can see.
Kathy studied art at Trinity University and the University of Houston. She is an active member of the Art League of Fort Bend, where she has studied with Reg Stark for 7 years. His technique for painting rocks and water, emphasizing the contrast between light and dark, is one that she follows in her home studio.
She has taken numerous workshops including watercolor with Kiko and Duncan, watercolor with Nellie Kress, oils with Susan Sheets and portraiture with Brenda Hash.
Her work is in numerous collections and can be seen at The Fifth Street Gallery in Rosenberg.
Art is all about how you see the world. Everything I look at becomes a potential painting whether the sun in the sky or the colors in a door. My eye sees a stimulus and my mind forms the painting.
