Ed is a transplanted Yankee from Michigan. He and his wife Mary Barrow live on a hobby farm near Bellville Texas, 50 miles West of Houston.
Ed started painting after he retired from his oil industry, geophysics career in 2001. He has sketched and taken artistic photographs since childhood, and he has applied artistic graphics to his geophysics imagery. These were helpful foundations for his painting.
He paints with oils, acrylics, watercolor and pastel. His topics include landscapes, still life settings and figure paintings. His style is mostly representative art with occasional abstract realism. He gets inspiration from local settings and world travels. He finds workshops, art sales, critique sessions and art shows instructive and entertaining.
Ed is a member of the Art League of Fort Bend, Brenham Fine Arts League, the Pastel Society of Southeast Texas and hangs in local galleries including the Fort Bend Arts Center.
